Suja Juice Co. has announced the September 2016 launch of its new line of functional Drinking Vinegars made with organic apple cider vinegar and cold-pressed fruits and vegetables. Each bottle contains over 4 billion CFUs (colony forming units) of live vegan probiotics, which have been shown to support gut and immune health. Suja Drinking Vinegars are fermented and unfiltered, and have the “mother” still intact.
Suja Drinking Vinegars contain 20-30 calories and 3-6 grams of naturally occurring sugar per bottle, offering a light sweetness with no added concentrates or extracts of any kind. These ready-to-drink beverages are available in five unique, flavor-forward combinations, including Hibiscus Ancho Chile, Strawberry Balsamic, Peach Ginger, Cucumber Ginger and Lemon Cayenne.
“At Suja, we pride ourselves on listening closely to our consumers and taking their feedback into careful consideration when developing new beverage innovations,” said Jeff Church, Co-Founder and CEO of Suja. “With the launch of our new Drinking Vinegars, we are excited to combine the flavor of our popular cold-pressed juices with the health benefits of vegan probiotics and apple cider vinegar for a totally fresh take on the functional beverage space.”
The consumption and use of fermented apple cider vinegar as a medicianal and cosmetic elixir can be traced back thousands of years. The natural presence of probiotics in fermented foods have led to increased interest from consumers, with the total U.S. probiotic marketplace expected to reach $96 billion by 2020 according to global market intelligence agency Transparency Market Research.
The Drinking Vinegars will join Suja’s highly successful line of Probiotic Waters as part of their probiotic-containing offerings. Suja Drinking Vinegars will be available exclusively in Whole Foods Markets nationwide September 2016. The 13.5 fl oz. bottles will retail for $2.99.
