Each 8-ounce serving of Quaker Oat Beverage offers .75 grams of the soluble fiber beta-glucan from oat bran. Studies show 3 grams or more of beta-glucan daily from oat bran, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.

Nom was born out of a fruitless search for easily accessible foods which were tasty, but didn’t contain any refined sugars and nasties. We know what you are thinking. If you drink Chai, you have to curl up on the sofa with your best friend forever and tell secrets. Not really. Sure, it’s good for that but stereotypical settings are so limiting. The cool thing about this product is that there are two cool things. Number one: you can heat it or you can drink it cold. If you heat it, all that cinnamon and cardamom and cloves and ginger will fill your room and make things cozy, which is perfect for some alone time with your BFF. Secondly, this product not only has all the power of oats but also is enriched with vitamins and minerals, specifically iron and folic acid, which are important for women and of course all of those very, very modern men out there.

 
What’s amazing
Girls, this one’s for you. Exotic with all the natural spices but also straight talking with fiber, not too much protein, good carbs and healthy fat. Oh dear, did we use the F word. Fat as in 0.5% fat. And 0.5% added raw sugar. But then there is so much added goodness you can start to feel healthy just looking at the package: Folic acid, D2, B12 and iron. And then those betaglucans*, hiding out in there just waiting to work their wonders on your heart.

 

 

What might be less amazing
The only thing that we have left out of this one is calcium, but we are working on it. Our current research is looking at ways to ensure that your body can absorb the calcium when served together with iron. The D2 in this product is great but to get the full recommended daily dosage of D you will need to compliment by running outdoors without sunscreen for 30 minutes or something, but that’s not so bad.

On the front of this carton are the words Natural Energy. We call it that because what you need to keep active and focused throughout the day is healthy carbs. So, we put berries together with oats to create a pretty delicious way to spend your afternoon break or your bike ride to the gym. You can sip it totally laid back or drink the entire carton in one gulp, but when you are finished you will be ready to go back to doing whatever it was you were planning on doing, refueled on the power of nature. Sorry about that, we should know better than to think that we have to sell this to you. Please try one sometime if you feel like it and feel the difference it makes to be charged on something healthy or don’t, that’s cool too. Whatever.

 
What’s amazing
It’s the natural energy combination of oats and fruit. It’s got all the goodness form the oats (protein, fat, carbs and fibers) and only 0.5% fat. A few more benefits? Affordable, convenient, delicious, satisfying and smooth. That sounded like we were a corporate company making claims, really sorry about that. Here’s a small piece of advice. Just try it, because the taste is what does it for the guy writing this.

 

What might be less amazing

If you are used to drinking Green Elephant Explosion or other energy drinks you might think that this drink shouldn’t really be called an energy drink, after all we haven’t stuffed it full of chemically produced caffeine. But before you pass that judgement on it, we would like you to please consider that energy is about getting you thru the day and natural is about finding that solution in things that can be grown in nature. Fibers and carbs will give you a longer more sustainable buzz and that is the kind of energy that we would prefer to stand for.

Snack Review: Pro-Elite Beetroot & Oat Flapjack

Following almost a year of product development, we're happy to announce that last week Beet It introduced a new beetroot-based flapjack to the market in response to consumer demand.

The Pro-Elite Beetroot & Oat Flapjack delivers the same dose of nitrate that athletes get from a single Beet It shot, but in a more palatable format, for those who find a SPORT shot too heavy before races.

The bars are lactose-free and similar in taste to a cereal bar, making them a handy-on-the-go product for athletes in training or a healthy 'elevenses' snack.
