NFL Legend, Jack Youngblood and Southern Recipe Small Batch Come Together to Support Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund

Budweiser Clydesdales Here to Stay, Bud Light is ‘Up for Whatever’

ST. LOUIS (Jan. 7, 2015) – As the exclusive category advertiser for Super Bowl XLIX, Anheuser-Busch today announced it will feature three ads spotlighting two marquee brands during the NBC broadcast on Sunday, Feb. 1. Budweiser and Bud Light will represent Anheuser-Busch with new creative.

“The mass appeal of the Super Bowl presents an unparalleled platform to launch 360-degree campaigns that ultimately deliver against our top priority: sell more beer,” said Jorn Socquet, vice president, U.S. marketing at Anheuser-Busch. “With our track record, we know consumers look forward to our iconic spots and what viewers see during the game is just the beginning of what they’ll experience from Anheuser-Busch in 2015.”

Anheuser-Busch’s flagship brand, Budweiser, will debut a 60-second ad that highlights the brewing credentials for America’s No. 1 full-flavored lager.

The second Budweiser ad, “Lost Dog,” will feature the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales and their favorite companion. In the spot, the Budweiser Clydesdales will tell an emotional story and help a puppy who has lost his way learn the true meaning of friendship.

“The Budweiser Clydesdales have appeared in our Super Bowl ads for nearly three decades. They continue to serve as time-honored symbols of how we brew our beer: remarkable care and attention, sparing no expense, the highest quality and consistency,” said Brian Perkins, vice president, Budweiser. “This year, they will live up to their reputation and once again save the day in a heartwarming story about best buds never letting you down.”

The creative agency for both Budweiser spots is Anomaly.

As the “Perfect Beer for Whatever Happens,” Bud Light will bring the unexpected to Super Bowl XLIX.

This year’s 60-second ad, “Coin,” features an everyday Bud Light fan who experiences an unforgettable night with ‘80s iconic old school fun simply by indicating he is “Up for Whatever.”

“We believe that our new Super Bowl commercial and the Bud Light House of Whatever will make Bud Light the most talked about experience at the Super Bowl,” said Alexander Lambrecht, vice president, Bud Light. “Bud Light will continue to create unexpected experiences for ‘The Perfect Beer’ campaign in 2015 and win with millennials through unforgettable, authentic experiences.”

Candy Review: Skittles Announce Seattle Seahawks Mix

ESPN reports that Seahawks’ Seattle Seahawk’s running back Marshawn Lynch and Skittles have an endorsement deal.

Small wonder since Lynch has been munching the candy — “power pellets,” his mom calls them — on the sideline since his Pop Warner days.

While specific terms of the deal are unknown, sources told ESPN that Lynch will receive financial compensation. The brand also will donate $10,000 to Lynch’s Fam First Foundation for every touchdown he scores in Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The deal marks the first time the rainbow candy brand ever has paid an athlete.

To celebrate the partnership, Skittles has made limited-edition packages of a “Seattle Mix,” a bag the brand will hand out this week that includes only circles of blue and green colors.


The Seahawks say the special-edition Skittles will be available at auction with the proceeds going to charity.

And now the candy maker says Seattle folks might get lucky with a bag of Seattle Mix, too

New York’s Carnegie Deli Introduces “The Jetbow”

Newly acquired New York Jet Tim Tebow hasn’t even been formally introduced as a Jet, but he already has a sandwich with his name on it.

“The Jetbow” was announced by the Carnegie Deli in New York as the restaurant’s latest celebrity-named sandwich.

The Jetbow consists of corned beef, pastrami, roast beef, American cheese, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato all crammed in between two pieces of white bread, and weighs an estimated 3.5 pounds.

Carnegie Deli’s walls are completely covered with pictures of celebrities who have attended the restaurant, and is known for its tributes to certain celebrities. The deli has sandwiches such as “The Woody Allen,” cleverly named after Woody Allen, and “The Melo,” named after Knick’s star Carmelo Anthony.

Carnegie Deli Owner Sandy Levine said that it would be the first time in the restaurant’s 75 years that a celebrity-named sandwich would contain white bread and mayonnaise, different from its usual combination of rye bread and mustard.

Levine also said that the ingredients in the Jetbow perfectly tailor to Tebow’s “All-American Boy” personality. Tebow’s picture already adorns the Carnegie Deli walls as he visited the restaurant after his Heisman-winning Season at the University of Florida in 2007.

Tebow is not even the starting quarterback for the Jets, but Tebowmania is the only thing stronger than Linsanity in New York, so he gets a sandwich.
