Candy Spotlight: Nestle Limited Edition Yorkie Peanut Bar

 

 

Nestlé Confectionery chocolate brand Yorkie has announced the launch of a new limited edition – Yorkie Peanut.

The much-loved chunky chocolate bar has been crammed with roasted peanuts, creating a limited edition bar set to appeal to the brand’s target audience of 25-34 year old men. The new bar will be available from 13th October and has an RRP 60p.

Nestlé UK spokesperson James Maxton says: “The Yorkie brand has been experiencing fantastic growth delivering a 36% value sales increase in both 2012 and 2013. This not only makes Yorkie the fastest growing hunger brand in the UK but also the only hunger brand to grow in value sales and share consistently over the last 3 years, thus making it a key brand for retailers to support and stock up on.”

Drink Spotlight: Nescafe Shakissimo Chilled Latte

 

Nescafé, the world’s fifth most valuable food and drink brand, is launching a range of chilled coffees in Europe, just in time for summer.

The Shakissimo range is made up of three milk-rich coffees – Latte Espresso, Latte Macchiato, Latte Capuccino – designed to be consumed straight from the fridge or chiller cabinet.

The coffees come with their own unique ritual – the cups have been designed to be shaken to create an instant creamy froth on the drink.

Europeans are showing an increasing appetite for chilled, ready-to-drink coffees, with the market growing 8% over the last three years alone, according to Euromonitor.

The Shakissimo range was developed by Nestlé’s Product Technology Centre in Lisieux, France, and will be distributed by Lactalis Nestlé Produits Frais, a joint venture between Nestlé and French Dairy firm Lactalis.

Nestlé is extending the Quality Street and After Eight brands with the launch of two new chocolate desserts this autumn, designed to appeal to families looking for an indulgent after-dinner dessert or snack.

One of the Nation’s most popular variety of Quality Street gets a new twist with the arrival of new Green Triangle chocolate dessert pots. A tempting combination of thick, creamy milk chocolate laced with Green Triangle’s signature smooth hazelnut taste, the new dessert provides spoonful after spoonful of indulgent pleasure for the whole family.

Celebrating over fifty years of the discerning after dinner chocolate, Nestlé is launching new After Eight chocolate dessert pots, recreating the traditional taste of After Eight mint chocolate thins. The dessert layers a smooth white mint fondant with a rich dark chocolate topping, combining to create a thick, creamy dessert.

Coffee-mate is following up their failed Blueberry Cobbler and Chocolate Raspberry flavored creamers by offering a special edition line that is flavored like Girl Scout cookies, including Thin Mints and Samoas. Obviously, the reactions have been much more positive:

“Oh my I think I just had a heart attack from joy!!!!!” Sandra Strickler wrote on Coffee-mate’s Facebook page. “Omg somebody shoot me now I’ve got Samoas in my freezer for my midnight snack. Now I can have it with my coffee!” wrote another user.”

The new creamers are expected to hit store shelves nationwide in the near future.
