Industry News: The Country Hen Makes Plans to Update All Packaging to Better Meet Consumers’ and Retailers’ Needs

Plastic Packaging to Protect and Preserve Farm Fresh Quality Eggs

Hubbardston, MA (May 9, 2017)The Country Hen, producer of the world’s best Organic, Omega-3 eggs, has announced they will be transferring all product packaging from pulp to plastic. The change is being made in an effort to continue to deliver the highest quality eggs to consumers. Plastic packaging provides a better seal, protecting the freshness and quality of each egg, as the shells are permeable. The updated packaging will add another level of ensuring the very best quality eggs are delivered to each retailer and ultimately, household. Additionally, the see-through plastic packaging allows for a clearer vision of the product without having to open the container. The container is visually more appealing with a cleaner package label and logo for retailers.

“Our desire to provide the highest quality eggs for consumers continues to inspire us to do everything possible to ensure freshness. This is evident in not only the quality control measures we take with our eggs, but also the container they deliver in,” shares Brandy Gamoning, Marketing Manager for The Country Hen. “The upgrade to 100 percent recycled, recyclable plastic packaging is also part of many recent sustainability efforts we have completed across our farm.”

Producing the world’s best Organic, Omega-3 eggs that are healthier for humans in a manner that promotes the well-being of the hens, is a top priority at The Country Hen. The farm lives up to the highest humane standards, including offering sunlit cage free barns and outdoor porch access as well as organic, non-GMO feed milled at the farm. The difference truly can be seen in the eggs: whites that don’t run, stand-up yolks of a deeper color, and an indescribably delicious taste.

About The Country Hen

Company Spotlight: NestFresh™ Cage Free Eggs

What does 100% cage free mean?

100% cage free means that NestFresh never uses cages and never has. You can rest assured that our eggs always come from hens that live in large barns where they can move about freely, socialize with other birds, perch, dustbathe, and lay their eggs in peace with nestboxes.

Since the beginning, NestFresh has always been committed to treating our hens humanely and giving them a more natural way of life. While we try to produce the humane alternative to regular eggs, we also try to produce them in the most local, natural and sustainable way, too. For us, that means NestFresh hens eat only the best vegetarian feed and are never exposed to hormones, antibiotics, or any harmful chemicals. NestFresh Eggs come from small family farms across the country and are packed into recycled, recyclable, and compostable cartons.

Over the years we have continued to add more farms to our network of family farms and developed even more options for people that want the best eggs possible. In addition to the cage free eggs that started NestFresh, we now offer Non-GMO Free Range, Organic, Pasture Raised, Omega-3, and Liquid Eggs from 100% cage free hens. Each of these come from family farms that are committed to sustainable agriculture and humane animal care. We invite you to learn more about us, our farms, and our products.

Cadbury Creme Egg Launches New Advertisement for 2013

On January 1 2013, Cadbury Creme Egg returns with a new, integrated marketing campaign encouraging people to be impulsive and have a fling with Creme Egg during this year’s Creme Egg season, which ends on March 31.

The multimillion campaign, created by Fallon London spans TV advertising, digital and PR and highlights how Creme Egg’s limited season can ignite some intense passions in people and invites fans to get their fix of their favourite Easter treat while they still can.

Five tongue-in-cheek, 10-second TV ads depict a series of people showing their passion for Creme Egg and engaging in a little bit of romance with the brand while
their flings last.

In one spot, a young man gives his reflection in a mirror a pep talk as he prepares to go out on the pull, in another, a girl is castigated by a friend for having a fling that she knows won’t last.

Cadbury Creme Egg returns with a new marketing campaign

Other executions comprise a man sweet-talking an egg in the back of a rented limo, an amateur artist who just wants to sketch his inamorata, and a romantic dinner for two.

With the campaign airing on January 1, 2013, a poster campaign will also play out the fling message, with cheeky copy directed at chocolate fans urging them to get their eggs while they’re still available.

A digital and social media campaign, created by Elvis supports the fling message and provides an opportunity for Creme Egg fans to have their own flings with the brand.

Commenting on the activity, Cadbury Creme Egg Brand Manager, Stephanie Sarantakos, said:

“This year will see Creme Egg return to its more playful side as we celebrate the nation’s favourite Easter treat. Due to its limited availability, we want to encourage fans to act spontaneously, give into their cravings and enjoy that moment of passion during the Cadbury Creme Egg season – it won’t last forever.”
