Drink Spotlight: McAles Brewing Company Unveils Hard Sodas

Introducing Hard Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Orange N’ Cream and Cola

McAle’s Brewing Company, In November 2015 the leading producer of hard sodas and Apple Ale launched an all-new line of hard crafted sodas including Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Orange N’ Cream and Cola. Today McAle’s stake their claim on its latest line of Hard Crafted sodas as “The Best Tasting Hard Soda of its Kind.”

McAle’s explored the world to find the best flavors and ingredients for its old-fashioned recipes. McAle's are confident in their claim of “Best Tasting Hard Soda of its Kind.” All McAle’s Hard Sodas come in a 24 oz. cans and 16 oz. cans available in a four pack, the only four-pack offering of its kind, and have 6% alcohol by volume.

McAle’s Hard Orange N’ Cream uses natural orange citrus and real vanilla cream for that classic sweet and tart flavor. Not only is this a one of a kind hard soda, it is also the best tasting orange n’ cream soda compared to anything else available in the country.

McAle’s Hard Root Beer is smooth-brewed using a cream soda base for a creamier and richer taste. Added spice bark and vanilla bean extract round out this complex and sweet alternative to beer.

The Hard Ginger Ale uses real ginger spice and natural lemon-lime, creating a true ginger ale with a refreshing taste. The spicy ginger and citrus lime come together in this drink to create a classic ginger ale flavor with a zesty finis

The Hard Cola uses natural kola nut, the fruit of a kola tree, to create that classic cola bitter-sweetness with a smooth finish. The first of its kind, McAle’s Hard Cola delivers true cola flavor and aroma.

“McAle’s Hard Crafted Sodas are unlike anything else available and we’re proud to once again pave the way for the industry and introduce our old-fashioned recipes to the world,” said Michael Michail, President and CEO of McAle’s Brewing Company. “These Hard Crafted Sodas are a welcome addition to the McAle’s Brewing Company family and further our commitment to supply cutting edge technology, style and flavor.”

Large format cans are a staple of McAle’s branding. Typically preferred by convenience stores, other retailers have been taking notice of the growth in grab-and-go products and created similar convenience sections to compete for that business. The introduction of craft beers has changed the old value perception of large format cans with premium single serve bottles and cans. McAle’s sees the convergence of these trends as support of its leadership and commitment to the large single serve can format.

McAle’s Hard Sodas are currently available across the country. For additional information and to find a retailer, visit www.mcalesbrewing.com.

Beer Spoitlight: Two Brothers Outlaw India Pale Ale

As bold as the name suggests but as friendly as the masked man, comes our first adventure into the world of cans. This IPA is full of citrus and pine hop character and aroma. The hop flavors play off the pleasant malt complexity like a good sidekick. Giddy-up.

About the company:
Two Brothers Brewing Company was founded by Jim and Jason Ebel in late 1996. The business was envisioned by the brothers based on their entry into entrepreneurship with The Brewer’s Coop, a retail store catering to home beer and wine making. In 1992 The Brewer’s Coop opened its doors in Naperville, IL selling retail ingredients and equipment for the homebrewing community. The more they were surrounded by brewing, the more passionate they became about opening their own microbrewery. In early 1996 they decided to take the plunge and started writing a business plan. Several months later their dream became reality. Two Brothers Brewing Company is still 100% family owned. Read More

Packaging Spotlight: Duck Foot Brewing

  • Duck Foot is a Southern California brewery that crafts artisanal brews for rad people. The designs use the skateparks, half-pipes, mountains and waves where this brand found it conception to create a flexible system. Family crests, illustrated with juvenile depictions of objects and landscapes give the bottles & 4-packs a goofy stance.

New York, NY, USA

If I had to choose a lumberjack I would choose Paul Bunyan but I was choosing a design firm so I chose Madonna+Child

Packaging Spotlight: Monocacy Brewing Company

"Monocacy Brewing Company (MBC) is a brewery located in the heart of Frederick, Maryland — an area already known for its strong craft brewing history. MBC needed an identity and branding that would appeal to a national audience, but also resonate with the local Frederick community. We worked closely with their team to create a mark that embodies the spirit of the brewery and the rich history of Frederick. The iconic Monocacy Aqueduct on the C&O Canal became the perfect symbol to represent their new brand attributes — trust, quality, strength, and craftsmanship — all while paying homage to their Maryland roots."

"To put their new brand identity to work, Monocacy Brewing Company asked us to develop a packaging system for their labels, six-packs, and cases. The objective was to differentiate their beer from the competition, while staying true to their brand attributes. Our solution uses a consistent batch-style label paired with a custom etched illustration to individualize each style of beer. Together, the system creates an iconic family of beer that clearly represents the MBC brand."

Bunny Beer: Pick Your Bunny

As a big beer drinking country, it is not a surprise that flavored beer is becoming a hit in Mexico. Bunny Beer is available four varieties of ale, stout and India pale ale. At $99.00 MXN a bottle, Bunny Beer is a lot more pricey than classic drinks and is sold by the pint – unusual for Mexico; however, the Stawski Brewing Company promises an intense taste in some of the most popular flavors of the country.

Chocolate Bunny is the only stout in the collection and promises to be richly chocolaty. The beer is lightly aromatic with a combination of chocolate and toasted coffee tones.
