Supermarket wedding cakes grow in popularity and sophistication

When Brianna O'Brien and Matthew Hockman ventured into their local Farm Fresh grocery store in Norfolk, Va., one day in early June, they weren't there for deli meat or a loaf of bread. They were there to order their wedding cake—three tiers with buttercream frosting, featuring a chocolate layer with raspberry filling, a vanilla layer with strawberry filling, and a marbled top layer. The total: $316.
