Product Review: Mackies Haggis Flavored Crisps

Mackie’s of Scotland has recently created these haggis and cracked black pepper potato crisps which they call “distinctively Scottish.” Truer words were never spoken or used to promote regional sausage chips.

With amazing foresight, the company also offers a complementary whiskey list, including Aberlour a’bunadh, The Famous Grouse, and Talisker.  Mackie´s also sells offers other unique flavored crisps including:  Mature Cheddar & Onion, Flamegrilled Aberdeen Angus, Scotch Bonnet Chili Pepper and Crispy Bacon.

There is no end to the odd flavors that can be used to create unique potato chip products.  While definietly novelty and quite possibly limited edition, launches launches like Mackie´s of Scotland prove manufacturers are more willing than ever to use non traditional flavors.  Over the past year we have seen some very unique and sometimes odd new flavored products including vodkas and ice cream.  Now you can add Mackie´s Haggis to this growing list!
