Chao Slices are the newest product from The Field Roast Grain Meat Co.
This trio of rich and creamy non-dairy coconut cheese marks the Company’s introduction as the first vegan “meat and cheese” brand. Chao tofu is a fermented soybean curd popular throughout Asia. Essentially it’s the traditional “cheese” of Asia. It can be purchased in Asian grocery stores in the North America and Europe, usually bottled and in a brine. It is often served with rice, is a common street food and usually deep fried

Chao Cheese is a continuation of our fascination with combining traditional Asian and European foods to create new culinary fusions, which we’ve done by partnering with a Greek cheese maker and a family in Taiwan who makes the Chao. We bring it all together in Seattle to create Chao Slices.

Field Roast is proud to make products that are real, not fake! Instead of trying to mimic traditional dairy cheese flavors like cheddar, mozzarella, or monterey jack, we have innovated new flavors that celebrate the brilliance of the plant based kingdom:
