About the Company
It started more than fifty years ago, on a New York farm, where I watched my father work hard day in and out to become one of the country’s earliest ‘conservation’ farmers (there was no ‘sustainability’ back then). At a young age, I grew to appreciate the value of re-using materials and natural resources to make better products and a far better world. My father worked this way long before it became popular...simply because it was the right thing to do.
We never compromise on using only the very best ingredients. That why the ingredients we use in Snoqualmie Ice Cream are homegrown or local whenever possible. Our milk and cream come from a single farm near the Canadian border, from the same group of cows run by a farmer who has never used hormones. We’re even building our own small farm right next to our café so we can grow more of our own ingredients – everything from blackberries and lavender to honey bees and a large chicken coop. And, like our current plant, we’re also planning to use the farm as a showcase for sustainability.
