Beer Spotlight: Fisgard 150 Bavarian Lager

Lighthouse Brewing Company is a “Quality First” progressive thinking microbrewery producing all natural distinct beers. Lighthouse Brewery began its brewing tradition in 1998 when the first kegs of Race Rocks Amber were rolled out to the Victoria area pubs and restaurants. In 2004 we introduced our products in 355ml aluminum cans and today select brews are also available is 355 and 650 milliliter bottles. We brew our beer in a custom designed brewery that can produce the highest of quality and at the same time fulfill our commitment to sustainable environmental brewing practices. We recycle all of our byproducts for the benefit of local organic farmers. Lighthouse brewery is a locally Canadian owned brewery.

Fisgard 150 Bavarian Lager is a traditional Bavarian style lager that is renowned for its crisp dry first impression and refreshing mild hop finish.  This beer features an imported yeast strain, premium malts and noble hops in keeping with the authentic Bavarian style.  The extended conditioning period gives Fisgard 150 an extremely smooth mouth feel, while the imported pilsen malts create the exceptionally bright, clean, colour characteristic.  Available in 6 pack bottles.

Food pairing: The mellow taste of Fisgard 150 Bavarian Lager is a particularly good compliment to seafood because it does not distract from the distinct flavor of the dish.  Smooth and clean, it can be enjoyed with slightly robust dishes yet still remain refreshing in the summer heat.  Try it with a halibut burger, grilled potatoes and salted corn on the cob.
