Hate Dining Solo? Site Offers a Solution
Hey, important traveling business ladies and/or sassy single women who are spunky and sassy enough to take vacations alone: isn't dining alone just the worst? You have to pretend you're on the phone, or worse, read something to avoid the penetrating stares of other, happier, coupled-up diners. Don't worry, there's a website to deal with that. Invite For a Bite helps women meet up to avoid the dreadful scourge of eating alone in a restaurant while traveling.
Why just women? IFAB owner Cressida Howard tells CNN, "As soon as you introduce the idea of men and women meeting for meals, it becomes almost impossible to distinguish it from a dating site." So women it is.
Also, apparently, men are cool with eating by themselves: according to one iFabber (that is what they are called) "Men seem to have no such obstacles...My husband happily walks into any place in any city for a drink or some food. So why do I scurry in and act like a lunatic?" It is unclear.
