Denim Made Of Beer Bottles
To celebrate Earth Day — which, hey, Happy Earth Day — the clever folks at Bonobos have launched denim that’s not just recycled, but recycled from… beer bottles. We’ve covered the brand’s great denim before, and this time, they’ve worked with the craftsman down at Cone Denim in North Carolina to create new jeans that are, technically speaking, comprised of 23 percent synthetic, recycled, beer-bottle yarn. The rest is cotton yarn, and there’s no need to worry about Heineken’s green glass rubbing against your knees. Instead, they sourced plastic beer bottles — those terrible things you get at concerts, sports venues, and other outdoor events where sandals may be involved — to create this new material. The result: A way to help the environment, look nice, and actually not feel lame while doing so.
