If it’s summer, I’m drinking my beer on ice.
I got hooked a few years back when Micheladas became the rage among beer lovers and the cocktail-obsessed. (If you happened to miss the trend, don’t sweat it–it’s easy: Mexican beer of choice, glass of ice, juice of one lime and then, if you want, a few dashes of hot sauce and some salt on the rim. Addictive.)
One day last June I didn’t have any limes handy or bottles of cerveza. But I did have a six-pack of Bud in cans, which is what I pretty much always drink, no matter the season. So I poured a can over ice–and no disrespect to limes or salt and all that, but damn, was it refreshing. Cold, bubbly, bracing.
Yeah, I know–I’ve heard it all: “You really drink beer on ice?” “Doesn’t that water it down?” “Why?!”
